Even though archery is a very safe sport, to fully protect yourself from injury during shooting, you will need the following accessories:

  • Finger Tab or Archery Glove: Either tie or slide the finder tab onto the middle finger of your shooting hand
  • Arm Guard: Place arm guard on the forearm opposite the arm of the shooting hand.

Why Do I Need A Arm Guard?

The arm guard is actually designed to protect the arms, specifically the wrist area of an archer once he’s released the notched arrow on his bow.

The string has the tendency to hit an archer’s arms during the release and this is why from a safety as well as a performance perspective it is important to have the armguard on at all times. Certainly no one wants to lose a competition or not hit their target because of something as trivial as cuts or bruises on their arms.
