Could be defective

I recently acquired this crossbow and within 30 minutes of getting it; the string snapped and went flying after the second bolt fired. It could have been a dud string. Despite this inconvenience it wasn't a bad crossbow. It is a ok Starter Bow but if you intend to get deeply involved in crossbows and archery in general; I would recommend going for a $70 starter Crossbow.
